Before us, priest Ziemiański, pastor of the Ostrow parish acting as Civil Registrar of the Ostrow commune in the Włodawa district, Radzyń region, Podlasie voivodeship, appeared the Jew Nusym Barbanel, 24 years old, a merchant residing in the town of Ostrów, and presented to us a male child who was born in his house at number 21 on the 22nd of May of the current year at 1:00 in the morning, declaring that the child is his and of Reyza née Abramów, 20 years old, his wife, and that it is his wish to give him the name Josef. After making the above declaration and presenting the child in the presence of the Jews Idzek Leder, 30 years old, a tanner, and Moszek Kapota, 40 years old, a tailor, both residing in the town of Ostrów. This act was read aloud to the declarants, and as they do not know how to write, it was signed by us. X. J.
