Before us, priest Jan Ziemiański, pastor of the Ostrow parish acting as Civil Registrar of the Ostrow commune in the Włodawa district, Radzyń region, Podlasie voivodeship, appeared the Jew Nusym Barbanel, twenty-four years of age, a tailor residing in the town of Ostrów, and presented to us a male child who was born in his house at number 220 on the 11th day of the month of July of the current year at eleven o’clock at night, declaring that the child is his and of Raydla née Abramów, aged twenty, his wife, and that it is his wish to give him the names Majer Jankiel. After making the above declaration and presenting the child in the presence of the Jews Boruch Brafnan, forty-five years old, and Jukief Jaschiel, forty-four years old, both laborers residing in the town of Ostrów, this record was read aloud to the declarants, and as they do not know how to write – it was signed by us.
