Zayde Duvid was with him when he was killed, but was taken to Majdanek. Nussen was found by the family later, twisted on the ground, still wrapped in his tallis, his blood pooled around him in the snow. Unable to be buried in the frozen grounds, he was buried in an impenetrable spot overgrown with bush and saplings and covered with branches.
