It happened in the town of Łęczna on 11/23 November 1898 at 8:30 o'clock in the evening. We announce that —in the presence of the witnesses Icek Hoffman, house owner, age 39, and Boruch Wejnberg, house owner, age 64, both living in the town of Łęczna— on this day at 8 o'clock in the evening a religious marital union was concluded between Szol-Aron Balter, bachelor, 24 years old, born, residing and earning his living with his parents in the town of Łęczna, son of Srul and Laja née Mendelsberg, the spouses Balter, both alive, and Bajla Milgaus [Milhaus], maiden, born in the town of Łęczna, daughter of Gerszko-Majlech and Ester-Perla née Zakdman, the deceased spouses Milgaus, 23 years old, residing and earning her living as a servant in the town of Łęczna.
This marriage was preceded by three announcements [of the banns] published in the Jewish synagogue of Łęczna on the Sabbath days 24 October/5 November, 31 October/12 November, and 7/19 November of the current year. The newlyweds stated that they have not contracted any prenuptial agreement. - The ceremony of the wedding was performed by the Rabbi of the Łęczna Jewish synagogal district, Lejzor Kerszenbaum. Upon having been read aloud, this act was signed by the rabbi, the witnesses, and Us, the newlyweds declared that they cannot write.
