His patronymic is recorded as Rabinowicz in his son Nusym's birth record. It would appear however that he is Elo, son of Peysach Rubinowicz Edelsztajn. The reason for this is because Elo, son of Peysach, died in 1880 and there is no other Elo Edelsztajn in any Leczna records and there is no direct indication that Rubin had a son named Elo.
Note: His age given in his children's birth records indicate he was born ca. 1800. However, in his death record in 1880, his age is given as 95, which would place his birth closer to 1785.

- **Łęczna liquidation table** (APL, *Zbiór tabel likwidacyjnych*, jednostka 2766805; read 2026-07-02). Household **№451 (plot 337)** in the Jewish town-residents section (Часть III) listed as **"Эля Эдельштейнъ" (Ela/Elo Edelsztejn)**. A **remark (Примѣчанія) records that he sold this usadba in 1867 to Wawrzyniec Sadur** — which explains why he held no Łęczna property at his 1880 death. His son [[Nusyn Edelsztajn (b.1834)]] holds a separate plot (hh 457).
