## Narrative
Abram Stajnzalc was born in [[Głusk]] in 1804, the son of [[Lejbus Stajnzalc (b.1781)]], a settled householder of the town, and [[Bajla Fajnzylberg (b.1785)]]; he lived his whole life in Głusk and died there.[^parents] His marriage, at eighteen, is the first record to catch him, and it ties his family into a web of the tree's other Lublin-region households. On a December day in 1822, before the civil registrar at Bychawa, the young bachelor "Abram Stajnzalc" of Głusk married **[[Dwojra Jenta Goldrajch (b.1804)]]**, herself eighteen, daughter of the Bychawa innkeeper [[Abram Abus Goldrajch (b.1783)]] and his wife Ruchla.[^marriage] The signatures at the foot of the act draw three generations together: besides the groom, they include the bride's father, **"Abuś Goldrajch,"** and **"Icek Hochman"** — the bride's own maternal grandfather, [[Icek Hochman (b.1755)]], the Bychawa leaseholder whose daughter Ruchla was Abuś's wife.[^marriage] The wedding of Abram and Dwojra Jenta thus stands at the meeting-point of the Stajnzalc, Goldrajch and Hochman families.
Over the decades that followed the couple raised a very large family in Głusk — eleven children are recorded, from [[Eyzyk Stajnzalc (b.1827)]] and [[Ryfka Szajndla Stajnzalc (b.1828)]] in the late 1820s through to [[Dawid Stajnzalc (b.1848)]] and [[Sura Bajla Stajnzalc (b.1849)]] at the end of the 1840s.[^children] Abram appears as a Głusk townsman in the city's 1854 population registry, and by the 1860s he was a house-plot owner there: the Głusk *miasteczko* liquidation table, compiled about 1864–66, lists "Sztajncalc [Stajnzalc] Abram" as the holder of **plot No. 85** (15 *pręty*) among the town's Jewish house-owners.[^registry][^liquidation]
He died in Głusk in October 1868, aged about sixty-five; his death act, by then kept in Russian, names him once more the son of the late Lejba and Bajla née Fajnzylberg, of Głusk.[^death]
[^parents]: Son of [[Lejbus Stajnzalc (b.1781)]] (a settled Głusk householder) and [[Bajla Fajnzylberg (b.1785)]] — named in both his 1822 marriage act and his 1868 death act (read directly). Born Głusk, 1804.
[^marriage]: Marriage record, Bychawa civil registry, 1822, akt No. 72 (read directly from the full-resolution scan; Polish court-hand).
