## Narrative
Brana was a Jewish woman of [[Żółkiewka]], born about 1749, the daughter of Herszek and Ita Herszmann.[^parents] She married [[Chaim Waintraub (b.1757)]], and their children were [[Laja Chaimowiczowna (b.1781)]], [[Zanwel Waintraub (b.1795)]] and [[Fraydla Waintraub]].[^children] Like her son, she is recorded as a *wyrobnik* — a day-labourer — the plainest of the town's working livelihoods.[^death]
She died at Żółkiewka on 14 October 1829, at six in the morning, aged eighty.[^death] Her death was reported the next day by two of her own family: her son **Zanwel Weyntraub**, a day-labourer of forty, and her son-in-law **Jankiel Herszmann**, thirty-seven — both of whom signed the act in Polish and Hebrew, and who named her surviving children, the son Zanwel and the two daughters Laia and Faygla.[^death]
[^parents]: Daughter of Herszek and Ita Herszmann — named in her 1829 death act (below). Born ~1749 (from the death act's age 80 in 1829).
[^children]: Wife of [[Chaim Waintraub (b.1757)]]; children [[Laja Chaimowiczowna (b.1781)]], [[Zanwel Waintraub (b.1795)]] and [[Fraydla Waintraub]] (GEDCOM/MyHeritage; the death act names son Zanwel and daughters Laia and Faygla).
[^death]: Death record, [[Żółkiewka]], akt No. 20, drawn 15 October 1829 (full translation on the profile, family MyHeritage biography): "Brana Weyntraub," a day-labourer (*wyrobnik*), aged 80, daughter of Herszek and Ita Herszmann, died 14 October 1829 at 6 a.m., leaving a son Zanwel and daughters Laia and Faygla. Reported by her son Zanwel Weyntraub (day-labourer, 40) and her son-in-law Jankiel Herszmann (37), who both signed in Polish and Hebrew; mayor/registrar Święcki. ## Evidence
## Open questions
- **Read the death-record scan (akta 20) directly** and add to Evidence.
- **Her father's family "Herszmann"** and the son-in-law "Jankiel Herszmann" — check whether the son-in-law is a paternal-side kinsman (endogamy) or coincidence of surname.
