## Narrative
Ralph Dahne — also recorded as Yerachmiel — was born 21 September 1899 in [[Maryland]], the eldest of the eight children of [[Elias George Dahne (b.1875)]] and [[Minnie Neprotofsky (b.1882)]].[^vitals] His siblings were [[Clara Dahne (b.1901)]], [[Blanche Dahne (b.1903)]], [[Sadie Deane (b.1904)]], [[Emanuel Dahne (b.1908)]], [[Dora Dahne (b.1912)]], [[Esther Dahne (b.1915)]], and [[Naomi Dahne (b.1918)]].
He trained in the electrical trade. Census records taken while he was still single and living in his parents' household list him as an electric contractor and, elsewhere, simply as an electrician.[^census] He married [[Fannie Siavitz (b.1907)]], and by the time he was recorded as head of his own household he continued to give his occupation as electrician, later as contractor, and later still as proprietor — a progression consistent with a tradesman who moved from working as an electrician into running his own contracting business.[^career] He and Fannie had two children, [[Herbert Dahne (b.1928)]] and [[Sandra Dahne (b.1934)]].
Ralph Dahne died 21 February 1997, at the age of 97.[^vitals]
[^vitals]: Vital dates, birthplace, the alternate name Yerachmiel, parents, spouse, children, and siblings are drawn from the profile frontmatter and the MyHeritage biography generated from the Dahne GEDCOM (I142725035891, synced 2026-07-01).
[^census]: The MyHeritage-sourced biography in the MyHeritage biography records him as single, son in the household, with the occupation "Electric Contractor" and, separately, "Electrician."
[^career]: Later entries in the same MyHeritage biography record him as married and head/self of household with occupations "Electrician," "Contractor," and "Proprietor." The shift from tradesman to proprietor is inferred from this sequence.
