## Overview
Holon is a city in the Tel Aviv District of Israel, just south of Tel Aviv and part of the Gush Dan metropolitan area. Established in 1935 on sand dunes (hence the name, from the Hebrew ḥol, "sand"), it grew rapidly into an industrial and residential center. Today it is known for its cluster of museums, including the Design Museum Holon and the Israeli Children's Museum.
