It was never a distinct Jewish community — in the 1921 census the village had 431 residents and adjacent Mętów-Kolonia 136 (17 Jews) — the organized Jewish community of the area being in neighbouring Głusk. (Partition-era jurisdictions follow the Lublin region; the village is not separately attested in those eras.) Sources: Wikipedia — Mętów, gmina Głusk, Virtual Shtetl — Głusk ## People with events here | Person | Event | | --- | --- | | [[Lejzor Sender Rochwerg (b.1859)]] | Born 1859 | | [[Chaja Laja Rochwerg (b.1863)]] | Born 02/08/1863 | | [[Malka Elka Barbanel (b.1867)]] | Born 1867 | | [[Ruchla Barbanel (b.1869)]] | Born 03/20/1869 | | [[Hersz Rochwerg (b.1869)]] | Born 05/30/1869 | | [[Ita Rochwerg (b.1870)]] | Born 06/30/1870 | | [[Judka Zindel Barbanel (b.1871)]] | Born 07/24/1871, Died 06/26/1873 | | [[Szyia Rochwerg (b.1871)]] | Born 11/19/1871 | | [[Szloma Rochwerg (b.1872)]] | Born 01/23/1872 | | [[Josef Zindel Barbanel (b.1872)]] | Born 01/27/1872 | | [[Moszek Rochwerg (b.1875)]] | Born 05/10/1875 | | [[Szloma Rochwerg (b.1877)]] | Born 01/15/1877 | | [[Matys Barbanel (b.1877)]] | Born 02/27/1877, Died 11/16/1877 | | [[Dawid Barbanel (b.1879)]] | Born 04/13/1879 | | [[Rajzla Barbanel (b.1882)]] | Born 11/17/1882 | | [[Judka Barbanel (b.1885)]] | Born 04/18/1885–04/30/1885 | | [[Rajzla Hofman (b.1888)]] | Born ~1888, Died 10/27/1890 | | [[Srul Rochwerg (b.1890)]] | Born ~09/1890, Died 10/15/1890 | | [[Chysza Ajdla Barbanel (b.1907)]] | Born 05/20/1907 | | [[Nusyn Barbanel (b.1911)]] | Born 06/29/1911 | | [[Jakob Rochwerg (b.1911)]] | Born 08/11/1911 | | [[Helen Barbanel (b.1919)]] | Born 04/19/1919 | | [[Szloma Hersz Rochwerg (b.1857)]] | Died 1925 | | [[Lejzor Barbanel (b.1930)]] | Born 08/01/1930 | | [[Chysza Ajdla Barbanel (b.1933)]] | Born 1933 | | [[Unknown Rochwerg (b.1942)]] | Born ~1942 |
