In December 1941 the Germans established a ghetto confining more than 23,000 people; in July 1942 about 2,000 were shot in the Bór forest near Głogów Małopolski and some 14,000 were deported to the Bełżec killing center, with further deportations in August and November 1942. The ghetto was then used to hold Jews from liquidated nearby communities, effectively destroying the Jewish population of Rzeszów. Sources: https://encyclopedia.yivo.org/article.aspx/rzeszow, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rzesz%C3%B3w, https://www.jewishgen.org/yizkor/rzeszow/rze201.html, https://sztetl.org.pl/en/towns/r/179-rzeszow ## People with events here | Person | Event | | --- | --- | | [[Avraham Segal (b.1625)]] | Died 1683 | | [[Shmuel Segal (b.1650)]] | Died 12/22/1718 | | [[Leah Neubauer (b.1884)]] | Born 1884 | | [[Miriam Neubauer (b.1885)]] | Born 1885 | | [[Esther Neubauer (b.1887)]] | Born 1887 | | [[Yocheved Neubauer (b.1887)]] | Born 1887, Died 1888 | | [[Chaim Leib Neubauer (b.1891)]] | Born 1891 | | [[Simcha Neubauer (b.1892)]] | Born 1892 | | [[Osias Goldfischer (b.1903)]] | Born 1903 | | [[Mojżesz Goldfischer (b.1907)]] | Born 1907 |
