Jews settled from the late 16th century; by 1821 ~80% of inhabitants were Jewish (~70% on the eve of WWII), with a brick synagogue, prayer house and cemetery, and the Hasidic Seer of Lublin first established his court there. Incorporated into Lublin in 1916; under occupation the Jews were moved to the Podzamcze ghetto in 1940, the synagogue and cemetery were demolished, and the district was razed. (This is the Lublin Wieniawa, distinct from the village in Radom County.) Sources: Teatr NN — Wieniawa, Polish Wikipedia — Wieniawa (Lublin) ## People with events here | Person | Event | | --- | --- | | [[Boruch Josef Wajsbrodt (b.1807)]] | Born ~1807 | | [[Srul Lejb Mandelajl (b.1819)]] | Born 1819 | | [[Lejb Tenenbaum (b.1819)]] | Born ~1819 | | [[Mordko Rajman (b.1832)]] | Born 1832 | | [[Frimet Krasa Mandelajl (b.1834)]] | Born 02/08/1834, Died 11/14/1843 | | [[Dwojra Rajman (b.1836)]] | Born 1836 | | [[Syma Rendlich (b.1837)]] | Born 06/22/1837 | | [[Abram Icek Szylkrod (b.1838)]] | Born 1838 | | [[Lejzor Wolf Mandelajl (b.1839)]] | Born 1839 | | [[Majer Wolf Friedman (b.1845) (2)]] | Born ~1845 | | [[Majer Wolf Friedman (b.1845)]] | Born 06/15/1845 | | [[Sura Bajla Wajsbrodt (b.1845)]] | Died 1847 | | [[Josef Majer Wajsbrodt (b.1848)]] | Born 1848 | | [[Czarna Friedman (b.1855)]] | Born 10/12/1855 | | [[Josef Sztetelman (b.1800)]] | Died 1858 | | [[Szajma Hersz Friedman (b.1859)]] | Born ~1859 | | [[Sura Chana Zynberg (b.1860)]] | Born 05/27/1860 | | [[Gdal Friedman (b.1860)]] | Born 11/29/1860 | | [[Beniamin Friedman (b.1865)]] | Born 07/07/1865 | | [[Chwala Friedman (b.1866)]] | Born 02/18/1866 | | [[Izrael Josef Friedman (b.1820)]] | Died 06/10/1867 | | [[Symcha Friedman (b.1815)]] | Died 03/12/1869 | | [[Sylka Gitla Mandelajl (b.1823)]] | Died 06/14/1873 | | [[Symcha Szlojma Korenblit (b.1875)]] | Born 1875 | | [[Dawid Friedman (b.1878)]] | Born 1878 | | [[Chaim Friedman (b.1880)]] | Born ~1880 | | [[Esther Friedman (b.1888)]] | Born 1888 | | [[Sura Nechama Friedman (d.1908)]] | Born |
