The community's most noted connection is to Rabbi Nissen Mangel, whose maternal grandparents (the Sterns) were prominent members. The village synagogue no longer survives and the Jewish cemetery was largely destroyed; the community was annihilated during the Slovak State deportations. Sources: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kurima, https://chabad.org/news/article_cdo/aid/3927412/jewish/Two-Holocaust-Miracles-in-Slovakia.htm ## People with events here | Person | Event | | --- | --- | | [[Sara (b.1818)]] | Born ~1818 | | [[Szruly Friedmann (b.1836)]] | Born ~1836 | | [[Mihaly Friedmann (b.1840)]] | Born ~1840 | | [[Moses Friedmann (b.1842)]] | Born ~1842 | | [[Rafael Friedmann (b.1844)]] | Born ~1844 | | [[Jakab Friedmann (b.1848)]] | Born ~1848 |
