An industrial hub in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, it drew a substantial wave of Eastern European Jewish immigrants who initially settled in the Woodland Avenue and later Glenville and Kinsman neighborhoods before moving to the eastern suburbs such as Cleveland Heights and Beachwood.
