The Jewish Galicia & Bukovina archive records a "Bortniki" community in the Bóbrka (Bibrka) district of Lwów province with archival documentation dating to 1906, and Wikidata lists a Bortnyky in the neighbouring Zhydachiv area — both lie in the belt south of Lviv whose Jewish life was administered from the district town of Zhydachiv (which had a Jewish rabbinical school from 1800).
