Page-citation template: `…/jednostka/-/jednostka/2767238?p_p_id=Jednostka&_Jednostka_delta=1&_Jednostka_cur={SCAN}`. Main table on scan 5 (hh 1–30) and scan 6 (hh 21–41).
## Method
Town cohort = every vault person tied to Mętów by `born_place`/`died_place` (26 people, all **Barbanel + Rochwerg** + one Hofman child). Household heads for an 1870 table are the fathers; matched all 41 householders against the full cohort + the broader Barbanel/Rochwerg pool.
## Householders
Of 41 landholder households, **38 are Christian peasants** (Tylec, Paździór, Dudziak, Drbal, Skalecki, Kaznowski, Wójcik, Melnik, Kowalczyk, Podolski, Broda, Czyżewski, Lewandowski, Lenga, Kosiński, Eleniewski, Grabowski, Miklarek, Mazurek, Kowelnik, + heirs of Anton Brodzi d.1867, + school plot hh 30). The **3 Jewish householders are all Rochwerg:**
| hh# | table entry | vault profile | land | placement |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 2 | Рохвертъ Іосифъ (Rochwerg Josef) | [[Josef Rochwerg (b.1839)]] | ~16 morg | **Evidence** (scan 5) |
| 23 | Рохвертъ Айзекъ (Rochwerg Ajzyk) | [[Ajzyk Rochwerg (b.1841)]] | ~6 morg | **Evidence** (scan 6) |
| 29 | Рохвертъ Вульфъ (Rochwerg Wolf) | *(no profile — patriarch, father of hh 2 & 23)* | ~1 morg 22 pr | **Open question** on both sons' profiles (scan 6) |
Recorded surname spelling throughout: **Rochwert** (Рохвертъ). Crops: `08 Attachments/Evidence/Metow-LT-1818I-hh{02,23,29}-Rochwerg-*.png`.
The table thus captures **three generations of one Rochwerg household** — patriarch **Wolf Rochwerg** (hh 29) plus his two sons **Josef** (hh 2) and **Ajzyk** (hh 23) — each with a separate enfranchised Mętów plot in 1870. Per user decision, Wolf Rochwerg is **not** given a new profile now; his 1870 landholding is recorded as an Open question on Josef's and Ajzyk's profiles (create-profile deferred).
## Key finding — Barbanel absence (negative evidence)
**No Barbanel appears among the 41 Mętów landholders**, even though the vault's Mętów Barbanels — **[[Chaim Barbanel (b.1840)]]** and **[[Chil Barbanel (b.1848)]]** — fathered children born in Mętów across **1867–1885** (e.g. Ruchla b.1869, Judka Zindel b.1871, Josef Zindel b.1872, Matys b.1877, Dawid b.1879, Rajzla b.1882, Judka b.1885). Conclusion: the Mętów Barbanels were **landless residents** (leaseholders/merchants), not enfranchised peasant landowners — a useful constraint for the Barbanel line. *(Per user: recorded here only, not added to the Barbanel profiles.)*
